HOW DO YOU CREATE YOUR ILLUSTRATIONS?

Mostly I draw by hand using black fineliners - different types of thickness on high quality paper. Then I scan the drawing and work on it in Adobe Photoshop - clean the dust, resize, change some lines and colour it.

WHY DO YOU ILLUSTRATE?

My fascination with illustrated books results in having more picture books than text books in the bookshelf. Invention of stories and finding visual language is a wonderful work. Children are great listeners who say whatever they think. Their creativity is huge, and their curiosity about the world is amazing and motivating for further creative work.

WHAT ARE YOUR NEXT PLANS?

I would love to focus on painting as it field of art I admire and I didn't have enough time for last years due to motherhood and commissions. I would also like to participate more in collective activities with other artists, because it is extremely developing and opens to a different perspective on art.

WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING OF BEING AN ARTIST?

At the same time you have to be your own manager, critic, artist - it is heavy to combine all the functions. Sometimes I post new projects online after long time, because I focus at the time more on creation. The best would be to work only on creative part, but it is impossible as being a freelancer.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

Other artists who put their heart in their projects, nature, distinctive places (by color, architecture, people), ecological conscious activities and people who are not afraid to speak their mind.

WHICH OF YOUR PROJECTS YOU ARE THE MOST PROUD OF?

Definitely balticarium.com platform. It is the interactive website about Baltic Sea animals with games, animations, pictures and so on. You can read there among others about the moon jelly, the sea scorpion, the sand hopper in already nine languages. I created this page, because I found out that there is not so much information about Baltic Sea animals and I decided to change it.
